Qi and the New Moon in Libra

The new moon in Libra today marks the beginning of the 9th lunar month for 2025. This year, the 9th lunar month is influenced by the third Celestial Stem, Bing, the Yang Fire Stem. The Fire element is associated with the planet Mars, while both the fall, or Yangming, time of the year and Libra are associated with Venus. As a result, we will experience the interaction between Venus and Mars, followed by a shift into Scorpio a few days later, which is ruled by the transformative planet Pluto. 

 

This new moon cycle is charged with passion and a desire for transformation. While it can be challenging, it is a time for letting go. We can use the Yang Fire energy to push forward creatively, rather than being trapped in conflict and indecision. This period may feel dramatic and tense. However, embracing the natural energies of fall and the approaching winter—allowing ourselves to sit with the coming stillness and quiet of the season—can offer support and space to be present with what was, what is, and to look forward to new beginnings.
